The Turkish Riviera is about to become even more attractive for investors...
The Turkish Ministry of Tourism has announced the allocation of new land for five international golf clubs to be completed in two years time. This shows the level of commitment the Government has in making the Turkish Riviera, THE hot spot for golfers, world wide, says Robert Nixon, Operations Director, UK for Nirvana International.
Continues Robert, Turkey is now recognised internationally as an elite golfing centre where players can benefit from superb facilities and enjoy spectacular surroundings.
The excellent climate is definitely an attraction with virtually year round good weather. Add to this the high standards of service and accommodation, good value for money and a fantastic range of international golf courses, many within a few miles of each other, and you have a golfer’s paradise.
The heart of Turkish golf
The resort of Belek, on the Mediterranean coast just 30 km from Antalya, is the heart of Turkish golf. The first golf course opened in 1994 and since then Belek has established itself on the international golf circuit with seven top class courses and a further five planned in the region. All the courses provide a spectacular backdrop of snow capped Taurus Mountains and of course this part of Turkey boasts 300 days of sunshine annually.
Added Robert, For any golf widows, the area has many alternative facilities including tennis, numerous water sports, health and fitness centres, spas, bazaars, museums and archaeology sites. There are opportunities to sample Turkish cuisine or enjoy open air discos during the summer months.
Proclaimed the Belek Tourism Centre in 1984 when its immense charm and potential for overseas visitors came to be realised the region has grown and now has 33, four and five star hotels and first class holiday village.
An area so well geared up to providing the very best for tourists is also a region where it makes sense to invest in property.
Excellent flight access
Prices in Turkey are around three times less than an equivalent property in Spain, so buying a home along the Turkish Riviera makes financial sense. There is good flight access from the UK with new routes being added by bmi and British Airways.
Concluded Robert, Such is the high level of interest in golf in the region, in May 2006 the Kadriye Belek Golf Society was launched. The idea is to bring together golfers, sufficient in numbers to persuade golf clubs to reduce fees for villa owners. We sponsor this society’s monthly competitions.
Property owners have responded to this opportunity extremely well and since July 2006 we have secured over 300 members (up to August 2007). Property owners who are members not only benefit from reduced green fees but also bar and food bills and even golf tuition have all been reduced.
