Having emerged as the latest exotic destination to attract investors worldwide, Cape Verde has continued to live up to its initial potential as the next big thing for property investment, with low purchasing costs and sustained capital growth of over 10%.

The tourist industry is thriving and the islands are gearing up for a sustained boom period over the next few years as developers begin to meet the international demand for rented accommodation and holiday schemes.

As well as the arrival of some of the most influential tour operators, major infrastructure on islands such as Santiago is preparing to accommodate a growing number of businesses attracted to the islands. High rental yields of 9% are possible, and increasingly competitive mortgage products are boosting the already buoyant market, leading to progressively high returns on cash invested.
