Latest figures from the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) show UK house prices falling 1.4% over the year to September (August -1.3%).
During the month, the value of the typical home slipped 0.7% to £207,326, with the figure 6.2% below the market’s April 2008 peak and 9.1% above its April 2009 trough.
Over the year to September, average prices decreased in all UK countries as follows: England -1.1%; Wales -3.4%; Scotland -3.3% and Northern Ireland -11.6%.
On a monthly basis, September saw average price rises in three regions, ranging from 0.1% in the South West to 0.6% in the South East.
