Thu, 22 May 08

An unknown Bulgarian town is about to become very attractive for property investors...

The UK-based company Ashton Lloyd & Partners International is going to construct a residential complex in the Bulgarian town of Kostinbrod.

The "Capital 68" residential complex will be located in the central part of the town. It will have six four-storey blocks of flats with a total of 227 apartments, including 73 studios.

"Capital 68"  will have an underground parking, squash courts, a covered swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, tennis court, and store.

The town of Kostinbrod has a population of 12 000 people and is located 15 km west of Bulgaria's capital Sofia. It is crossed by two rivers, the Blato in the north and the Belitsa in the south, both tributaries of the Iskar River, and is famous for the mineral waters in the area.

Its economy was largely based on poultry farming and stock breeding during the Communist period, but a number of factories -  including a 120,000 m˛ Coca-Cola factory - have emerged in democratic times due to the town's favourable position and the liberal zoning policy of the municipality.
