House prices fell by 0.5 per cent in February, according to the latest Halifax house price index.
That amounts to a 1.9 per cent fall for the three months to February year-on-year. However Martin Ellis, Halifax’s housing economist, said that overall house prices were at 'broadly' the same level as last spring.
Ironically, he added that is due to low interest rates and tight supply bringing stability to the market.
