News: Cape Verde in London boost

Tue, 25 Sep 07

TACV, the national flag carrier of the Cape Verde Republic, has announced that direct flights from London Stansted to Cape Verde will commence on 29th October 2007...

Recognising the increasing demand by tourists and second home owners for regular direct flights from the UK to the Atlantic archipelago TACV (Transportes Aéreos de Cabo Verde) will operate a twice weekly service flying from London Stansted to Praia on the island of Santiago each Monday and to the primary international airport on Sal Island every Thursday. Outgoing connections to Fortaleza in north eastern Brazil will also be offered on each route.

Adrian Lillywhite, MD of Cape Verde Property Ltd which markets real estate on both Santiago and Sal, comments, “This new route from TACV is well timed as more and more people are looking to visit the islands for some winter sun. Demand for residential real estate at this time and on those particular islands is also high as property buyers seek affordable frontline properties overseas.”

In addition to the direct flights to the islands of Santiago and Sal, the airline also has plans to operate a direct service from the UK to the island of Boa Vista commencing in January 2008.
