More efforts are being made to urge London homeowners to consider short-term lets which in some cases can routinely earn an extraordinary £15,000 a week according to one agency in the capital - and in exceptional cases three times that amount.

Aston Chase has partnered with short-lets rental firm Veeve, which claims to handle some 15,000 High Net Worth overseas visitors to London each summer.

The majority come from Asia - specifically China, Hong Kong and Singapore - and the Middle East, notably Saudi Arabia, Qatar Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

Aston Chase says its landlord hosts in St John’s Wood, Regent’s Park and Marylebone have achieved up to £10,000 per week while two exceptional properties hit the jaw-dropping figures of £40,000 and £50,000 per week.

Veeve, which operates in London, Los Angeles and Paris, provides hotel-style services for their short-term rental clients including a meet and greet service, professional housekeeping, a concierge, home comforts including private airport transfers and fridge stocking and linen, towels and toiletries.

Aston Chase lettings director Ben Sloane says: “The summer period consistently spikes the short-term rental market with prime properties in London being occupied by International clientele. By partnering with Veeve we are able to offer our home-owning clients access to a larger platform of International applicants, and in turn we are able to provide customers with more private, safe and luxurious properties with hotel-style amenities and conveniences.”
