Mon, 10 Feb 14

Greater London property prices rose by over £52,000 last year, according to new figures. Data from Move with Us shows that house prices in Great Britain jumped 1.26 per cent in the last quarter of 2013, taking values to an average of £246,781.

Prices in the North of the country dropped, but the Midlands, South East and Greater London led the growth. Indeed, the average asking price in the East Midlands reached the highest level for five years in November, hitting £182,505.

In Greater London, meanwhile, asking prices increased by 4.68 per cent in Q4, taking its total price rise for 2013 to £52,535.

Robin King, Director, Move with Us comments: “Although 2013 ended with a decline in the number of new listings due to the seasonal Christmas slowdown, the market has quickly picked up momentum and we are already seeing larger numbers of property transactions since the start of 2014."
