These towns show superior strength and vivacity in their property markets when compared to the national average time on market for unsold property of 205 days. The UK's top twenty property sales hotspots for May 2011 show a significant change in the market since our June 2010 analysis, with prosperous towns across the South East overtaking London boroughs. Farnborough now tops the list where buyers are competing for a limited supply of properties.
NB: Only towns with more than 500 properties for sale were included in the survey, which analysed the mean time on market for unsold property in estate agents' property portfolios.
