Affiliate Scheme Details

Members of the Home.co.uk Affiliate Scheme will qualify for reward as follows.

Registration

The affiliate will be assigned a username and password.

Links

Site visitors should be referred to Home.co.uk by directing them to click on a URL with "?from=username" appended
http://www.home.co.uk/?from=username

For example, if "partner1" wanted to set up a link to the Home.co.uk home page the following link should be used:
http://www.home.co.uk/?from=partner1

Or if "websiteA" wanted to create a link to the Home.co.uk Sell Your House page the following link should be used:
http://www.home.co.uk/selling/?from=websiteA

Note that it is not valid to make referrals to pages not under the Home.co.uk brand, eg those run for our HouseFinder partners.

Reports

A Referral Report is available online in real time including full details of all referrals sent, ads placed, photos paid for and amount invoiceable.

Cookies

When a site visitor is referred to the Home.co.uk website using the link described above, that site visitor will be assigned a cookie lasting 6 months, and the ID of the cookie will be recorded by Home.co.uk along with the referrer's username. This record is immediately visible on the Referral Report.

Each time the visitor returns to Home.co.uk their cookie is updated to last a further 6 months from that visit, but the cookie ID will remain the same as the one originally recorded.

If the site visitor does not visit Home.co.uk in the subsequent 6 months the Home.co.uk cookie will expire from their computer. If they return beyond this period they will be issued with a new cookie with new ID.

Note that it is not possible to reward two different affiliates for referring the same user. In the rare case that a site visitor is referred but is already recorded by Home.co.uk as having been previously referred by a different partner that referral will not qualify for reward.

Adverts & Photos

When a site visitor advertises a property for sale on Home.co.uk their cookie is recorded. The Referral Report displays links to any such adverts created by a site visitor whose cookie is recorded as having been referred by an affiliate.

It is possible to follow these links to double-check which adverts have photos.

Once a property seller has placed an advert on the Home.co.uk website they can pay by cheque or online by credit card. If payment is by credit card the payment immediately appears on the Referral Report. Payments by cheque will appear as soon as we process them.

The Referral Reports show which adverts have had photos paid for, and each of these will generate a reward of £10 for the referring partner.

Invoicing

Rewards earned do not become invoiceable until 14 days after the end of the month in which they accrued, ie the month during which payment was received for a photo by Home.co.uk.

There is a minimum reward payment of £50. Provided the invoiceable amount reaches at least this minimum payment will be made upon receipt of an invoice matching the amount shown on the Referral Report.

Expected Rewards

Over the long run Home.co.uk has found that around 6% of advertisers pay to include photographs. This equates to an average 30p reward for every site visitor sent who advertises their property.

Please note that it is sometimes the case that a seller only adds a photograph to their advert a few weeks after placing the advert.
